Fourth International Conference on the Effects of Noise on Aquatic Life

Abstract

UMD proposes to continue their research on the impact of noise on aquatic life by hosting the fourth international conference on the effects of noise on aquatic life in Dublin, Ireland, July 2016. The conference will focus on issues that have a substantial impact of marine life by bringing together scientists, regulators, and representative from industry and environmental groups for formal presentation and numerous informal opportunities to "network." Moreover, the meetings will (as past meetings) provide extensive opportunities for learning about work, and interacting with people, who focus on different animal groups, different noise sources, and different approaches to understand issues and their mitigation. This, there is a strong emphasis in the meeting for communication of ideas between participants from different backgrounds and interests in the overall themes of the conference.
