US - CHINA STRATEGIC NUCLEAR DIALOGUE

Abstract

The “US-China Strategic Nuclear Dialogue” will continue the NPS/PASCC-sponsored track-1.5 Beijing dialogue between US and Chinese military and civilian officials and experts. It will help build greater understanding between the United States and China on strategic nuclear issues while testing assumptions, correcting misperceptions, and simulating new thinking and research in the arms control and nonproliferation community. The Dialogue will explore differences in US and Chinese strategic thinking; reduce misperceptions; enhance mutual understanding of respective views on the role of strategic forces including how they will be employed and deployed; and help create confidence to build a stronger relationship between the two countries and their respective scholars, think tanks, and various academic communities.
