Naval Sea Cadet Corps Training Program

Abstract

The USNSCC provides a unique opportunity for young people, ages 10-17 to: 1) Experience and develop an interest and skill in seamanship and seagoing subjects; 2) Develop an appreciation of the U.S. Navy s history, customs, and traditions and the importance of the contributions of science and technology to the modern Navy as an essential element of America s national defense team; 3) Increase awareness of the prestige of a military career and service to one’s country, and to increase the advancement potential for those who do serve; and 4) Build in every cadet a sense of patriotism, self-discipline, accountability, self-confidence, grit, teamwork, and similar qualities which will help to make our young men and women into ethical leaders and good citizens of strong moral character, all while living a tobacco-, alcohol-, drug-, and gang-free lifestyle.
