CSP - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GENOMIC MEDICINE
Abstract
Vietnam has about 125,000 new cases of cancer every year and over 76 percent of them die ~ one of the highest rates in the world (30% in North America, 31% in Europe). This unfortunate high rate of death is largely contributed to the lack of a highly accurate early-cancer diagnosis technique in Vietnam. Fortunately, recent advancements of DNA sequencing technology are now driving a revolution in early cancer detection worldwide and offers countries across Southeast Asia, e.g., Vietnam, the opportunity to catch up with the developed world in the areas of cancer research ~ esp. detection and treatment. The International Conference on Genomic Medicine 2015 (GM2015) aims to bring world s leading experts in this new (and important) area to Vietnam and discuss the latest advancements in cancer genomics, disease genomics/epigenomics, DNA sequencing, comparative genomics, disease genomics, disease epigenomics, pathogen, microbiome genomics, pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine and bioinformatics. Because of it~s high cancer rate, Viet Nam and other Southeast Asian countries can serve as a testbed for new cancer diagnoses and treatments. GM2015 will provide U.S. Naval scientists in genetics research an opportunity to meet and develop relationships with other leading international researchers in DNA sequence analysis and Genomics.
