VSP - Andrews (UCL) to Amsterdam, DC and MI

Abstract

Trip 1: David Andrews and one grad student or Post Doc will travel to Amsterdam to participate in planning meeting with ONR, Univ of Michigan (D Singer) and TU Delft (H Hopman) as preliminary for NICOP on “Distributed System and General Arrangement Design utilising Complex Theory for the Analysis of Architectural Implications”. Trip 2: David Andrews and one grad student or Post Doc will travel to Washington DC to participate in meetings with ONR and CISD Carderock. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss comparative ship concept design methods and post graduate teaching approaches – USN and UK practice compared. Trip 3: David Andrews will participate in meetings with SNAME Department at University of Michigan to discuss potential further areas of collaboration in research related to naval ship and submarine design. Dr. Andrews has been invited to give a lecture at U of M to Naval Architecture group and USN attendees..
