CSP - INDO-US WORKSHOP ON RECENT ADVANCE IN BLAST MITIGATION METHODOLOGIES FOR CIVIL AND MARINE STRUCTURES

Abstract

1. Analysing structures that are subjected to harsh loading environment such as Blast/shock loading is indeed a challenging area that requires deep understanding of material science, mechanics and wave propagation. Mitigating blast effects is the fundamental design objective in the design of many naval vessels and aircrafts. The aim of this workshop is to bring together academia and defence scientists from India and USA, exchange ideas, identify strengths, and help in establishing research collaboration. 2. The effect of blast type loading is important for marine structures in general and marine composite structures in particular. The topic is also relevant for armor, ground vehicles, aircraft and ships and fast boats.
