CSP - NANOFIBERS, APPLICATIONS ANAD RELATED TECHNOLOGIES - NART
Abstract
In the past decade, the Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic, and North Carolina State University have developed a close, cooperative relationship in the field of micro- and nanofiber technology. For the first time, the two institutions have agreed to hold a conference in Liberec and through it to add a strong, international componentto their bilateral ties. To this end, the Czech organizers have invited experts in this field from the US (e.g., Yale University, UC Davis, NC State, the EPA), Germany(University of Bayreuth), Singapore (National University of Singapore), Turkey (e.g., Istanbul Technical University, Bilkent University), the UK (University College, London), Switzerland (Zurich University of Applied Sciences), Hong Kong (Hong Kong Polytechnic University), China (Donghua University), Thailand (King Mongkut s University of Technology), Austria (Medical University, Vienna), Taiwan (Taipei Medical University), and South Korea (Korea Institute of Industrial Technology). The topics to be discussed include: - Electrospinning of bio-polymer nanofibers;- Hybrid polymeric materials for tissue engineering applications;- Water filtration;- Silica nanofibers for healing wounds; and,- Nanofiber layers with silver nanoparticles and antimicrobial research.
