VSP - Herbison VSP to International Workshop on Neuroendocrinology - MENDOZA ARGENTINA

Abstract

Herbison VSP to International Workshop on Neuroendocrinology. Mendoza, Argentina Dr. Allan Herbison from the University of Otago is an international expert in steroid hormone action and neural functions affected by steroid hormones. His presence will be an important inclusion to the workshop where he will be able to interact with the faculty and trainees from Latin America and the United States (including scientists from the USUHS). Because of his expertise in steroid hormone function and the physiological functions that they regulate, his presence will be an added benefit to those who attend the workshop, and particularly to those seeking to understand how steroid hormones regulate homeostasis and the extent to which physiological systems maintain homeostasis under duress. Dr. Herbison has published approximately 200 papers to date, many are seminal to the current understanding of how steroid hormones function in brain. His work not only has shaped our current thinking in neuroscience but will invariably influence how we will think about this field in the years to come. Dr. Herbison s presence at this workshop will be added value for trainees and junior faculty who will be able to interact with him closely.
