Infectious Disease Spread - Digital Disease Detection
Abstract
This is an International Symposium on 25-27 March and a follow-on hack-a-thon 3-5 June 2015 in Recife, Brazil. The focus will focus on Infectious Disease Spread (dengue fever, ebola, and travelers diarrhea are of interest to the US NAVY and NAMRU-6) and Digital Disease Detection methods (big data approach to epidemiology). Specifically, this year they are focusing on modeling and detection for mass gathering events (Olympics, Carnival, World Cup) and (desired outcome) I could foresee a NICOP in support of disease spread tool for NAMRU
