Abstract

This conference will address objectives of the ASSURE ACCESS TO MARITIME BATTLESPACE Focus Area to match predictive capabilities to tactical planning requirements. The US Navy uses wave models to simulate the ocean operating environment with input from in-situ data. Wind waves represent the basic parameter of interest for all marine engineering and military applications. In the open sea they dictate the design and operational conditions of offshore structures. Close to the coast the design and planning of any marine structure and operational activity depend on them and on the local environment they create
