WIMS 2015 5TH International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining and Semantics
Abstract
WIMS 2015 is the fifth in a series of conferences concerned with intelligent approaches to transform the World Wide Web into a global reasoning and semantics-driven computing machine. The purposes of the WIMS series are: (a) to provide a forum for established researchers and practitioners to present past and current research contributing to the state of the art of Web technology research and applications, and (b) to give doctoral students an opportunity to present their research to a friendly and knowledgeable audience and receive valuable feedback. The Web as we know it is transitioning into a global information datastore. Research needs to be done on how to build intelligence and semantics into this global information store. Researchers attending WIMS 2015 are concerned with answering some of these questions. The results here will contribute to the work of the US Naval and Marine Corp Science and Technology Plan, particularly in the areas of command and control, distribution of important information and sensor networks. The research results disseminated at this conference will help employees and officials of the US Naval and Marine Corp Science and Technology division to be informed of the latest ideas, technology and work inthis area. They will also be able to establish working relationships with the top researchers attending the conference.
