ICT-Energy: Energy consumption in Future ICT Devices

Abstract

Energy management at small scales has become a relevant aspect of the present ICT. The heat production in microprocessor during computation is clearly a technological limit to the further expansion of the computer market. On the other hand, the efficient powering of small-scale electronic mobile devices is still an open problem and its solution is a very active and competitive field internationally. The number of applications for which micro-to-nanoscale devices are required is increasing every day and covers fields as diverse as mobile ommunications, position tracking of goods, persons and animals, health monitoring, building control, defense applications, smart sensing. The event is aimed at bringing together both young and experience researchers to discuss and advance the basic fundamentals of the science of efficient ICT through 4 thematic groups of lectures:
