Smart Grid System Model for Smart Solar and Biomass Eco-town

Abstract

The five primary research objectives of this project are:To develop the self-sustainable Smart City model that can be adapted to actual community use, and be able to maintain its position in the global smart grid growth and development.To use information technology (IT) in managing electric power generation from various sources.To enhance energy security by increasing power production from renewable energy instead of non-renewable energy resources to reduce energy dependencyTo develop new form of electrical utility industry to provide universal electric service which bring about the tripartite group including 1. Retail electrical provider Provincial Electricity Authority as the marketplace (real-time buying/ selling) Customers/users establish Smart Grid Center of Excellent to exchange information and knowledge, support research, teaching, learning, and training activities at community, regional, national and international level
