Abstract
2 ABSTRACT Department of neurosurgery at All india institute of medical sciences and associated JPN apex trauma centre is organising 3rd ANTC 2015 ( 3rd AIIMS Neurotrauma conference 2015) at All india institute of medical science and JPN Apex trauma center ( AIIMS) between 28th October 2015 – 31st October 2015. Head and spinal injury is a major health problem in India and globally accounting for significant loss of life/socioeconomic burden on family/nation. By 2020, traumatic injuries are expected to be third leading cause of death globally. India has one percent of global vehicle population while we have 10% of road traffic accidents. Management of head injuries is challenging as time window of action is limited. Raised intracranial pressure in severe head injuries is significant cause of death. With timely interventions, outcome can be improved. The conference will provide an ideal platform for you to show your social commitment to the delegates and the faculty, and public at large. The theme of this year conference will be: Protocols to practice in craniospinal trauma. The conference will bring together over 350 delegates from all parts of India and abroad. The focus of the discussions will be on developing guidelines in management of traumatic brain injuries, Biomarkers in Neurotrauma, penetrating brain injuries, management of raised intracranial pressure (ICP), spinal injuries, recent advances and developing consensus statements for the same by means of various presentations/panel discussions and workshops by guest faculty( reputed and distinguished national and international academicians and clinical experts who are leaders in their respective fields.
