NICOP - Rogue Waves in Optical RF Transmission Links
Abstract
This project will investigate optical rogue waves that occur in specialized nonlinear laser systems, and will study the effect of rogue waves on optical and RF communication systems. The hardware that will be developed and the pulses it will generate can also be used to seed and modulate high-badwidth RF pulses that will potentially have higher power conversion efficencies than current systems.
