a. The IWCEM - International Workshops, Conferences and Expo for Military and Marine Applications, were initiated in the year 2008. The event has had seven editions and has had support and participation from across the globe involving the Defence Services, Shipyards, Coast Guard, Industries, Professional Bodies, Research Organizations and Academic Institutions. IWCEM 2016 ??? 28 to 30 May 2016 with its motto ???Igniting Research for Application???, conceives the event as an interactive platform for real time benefit to its participants. It provides opportunity to the industry for product display & presentations with the conference themes. The themes of the conference cover all aspects of the corrosion of materials in marine systems,including:??? Ship Building.??? Corrosion assessment & control technologies.??? Preventive maintenance.??? Modelling & Simulation Materials??? Failure analysis.??? Design Optimization, Health Monitoring and life-cycle costing.??? Futuristic Marine Technologies??? Students Sessionb. The Navy is looking for new functional and tailored materials and advanced self-healing, low drag and other coatings. India is making considerable progress in this field. It is advantageous to us to provide an opportunity for our scientists and researchers to have first-hand information on their progress. IWCEMs provide this opportunity while bringing experts from other countries as well. An invited special closed door Technology Meet provides the opportunity to meet and discuss with top Indian Navy officials as well as industry leaders. This forum also provides opportunities to engage both academic and military S & T.
