NICOP - Effects of Waves on Ship Wake and Propeller Performance

Abstract

This is a three-year follow-on effort of a one-year pilot NICOP project (ending in August 2015) to Prof. Hsin. Prof. Hsin is one of the few researchers in the world developing advanced and comprehensive numerical method to evaluate the performance of a ship propeller including ship wake, ship motions, and ocean wave effects. Based on the excellent results of the one-year pilot NICOP effort, I was able to convince Dr. Ki-Han Kim of ONR code 331 to co-fund this 3-year follow-on NICOP project.
