CSP - IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC 2016)

Abstract

Technical: The 2016 edition of the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC) will be held for the first time in the GCC region at Qatar, on 3 – 6 April 2016. The conference attracts scientists and researchers in the area of wireless communications and networking technology. IEEE WCNC is the world premier wireless event that brings together industry professionals, academics, and individuals from government agencies and other institutions to exchange information and ideas on the advancement of wireless communications and networking technology. Relevance: The conference topics cover a wide range of issues that are directly related to US Naval Science and Technology plan under (1) Communications and Networks (Dynamic, scalable tactical communication networks, High-performance, low-cost communication solutions) (2) Efficient Power and Energy Systems (3) Computational and Information Construct (Open source, open architecture and service-oriented architecture/Tactical cloud) (4) Full Spectrum Cyber Operations (Computer network exploitation) (5) Decision-Making Superiority (Distributed mission-focused autonomy for control of large sensor information networks, Data error management, Data science involving the use of analytics and reducing information down to its critical element) Outcome; Increased GTA engagement with scientists in Qatar and in the Gulf region, as well as GTA regarding wireless communications technology in the region.
