CSP - NTREM CONFERENCE
Abstract
The 19th International Seminar "New Trends in Research of Energetic Materials - NTREM" will be held in Pardubice, Czech Republic, April 20 - 22, 2016.We have co-funded the NTREM conferences for the past couple years and have found it to be a very worthwhile effort. Code 35 supports our interest and finds the Proceedings to be quite useful. An AD from ONRG usually attends the event, as well as Dr. Ruth Doherty (formerly at Indian Head and now at the University of Maryland) and Dr. Maija Kukla (University of Maryland and NSF); Dr. Cliff Bedford, Code 35, has participated in the past. Leading international specialists -- e.g., Dr. Bill Proud (Imperial College London), Dr. Thomas Klapoetke (Ludwig Maximilians Universitat Munchen), Dr. Tatiana Pivina (Zelinskii Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow), and Dr. Yuanjie Shu (Xi an Modern Chemistry Research Institute, China) -- normally attend the Conference.In short, NTREM is the leading international gathering of specialists in energetic materials, gives ONR and ONRG insight into recent developments in the field, and is clearly a good investment.Lastly, in an earlier email exchange I found out that RDECOM-London is interested in co-funding NTREM-2016.
