NICOP - Effects of system suspended robotic Lokomat gait in patients with incomplete spinal cord injury

Abstract

Effects of system suspended robotic Lokomat gait in patients with incomplete spinal cord injury:a. Sao Paulo (unfortunately) has a high indice of spinal cord trauma because of the traffic and violence. This has created a large pool of people in need of therapy and puts the SP medical system in a position to study different types of therapy. The work proposed here has been called for in the general literature- namely to explore the utility of different types of regimes, and especially focusing on duration and onset of the therapy regimes, as well as creating multi-faceting efforts. b. Recovery from trauma is a critical issue for the US Navy in general (given the risk that comes from training, flying, working on the ocean, etc) but that has been accentuated with the wars in the Middle East. Spinal Cord trauma is a risk faced by any sailor working in a situation that could have high impacts, such us driving or flying. It is also something that is not easily protected with body armor. c. Code 34 (Brent Olde) d. Advance understanding of trauma treatment
