Abstract
XXXVI Congress of Marine Sciences, to be held at the Main Campus of the University of Concepcion in May 2016. A, Chilean Society of Marine Sciences organizes the Marine Science Congress. This scientific event brings together academics, researchers, professionals and undergraduate and postgraduate students from Universities and research centers from Chile and Latin America, as well as international experts in emergent areas of marine sciences. The main areas that will be covered by SuMAR UdeC 2016 are oceanography, climate change and pollution, among others. This year three international experts will participate as keynote speakers in important areas of oceanography such as climate change: Dr. Richard Thompson, School and Marine Science and Engineering, Plymouth University, UK, Dr. Steven Widdicombe, Head of Science Marine Ecology and Biodiversity, Plymouth Marine Laboratory, UK and Dr. Antonio Figueras Huerta, Head of the Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas, Vigo, Spain. B, Marine Sciences is an interest of ONR Code 32. C, Planning to reach out to Code 32 to offer summary of proceedings and seek possible NICOP in the future. D, The outcomes of this event will be a proceeding containing all the information related to the congress, as well as the abstracts of all oral and poster contributions. The plenary conferences offered by the international experts will be transmitted live via streaming and also recorded.
