NICOP - Dynamical models of criminality: the new frontier of mathematical applications to psychology and the social sciences
Abstract
Dynamical models of criminality: the new frontier of mathematical applications to psychology and the social sciences:a. Project looks at how to model and quantify crime. It aims to create a tool that can be used in various types of conflict. b. The US military is constantly working to figure out how to interact with communities in conflict zones. Sometimes these communities are purely innocent, but often there is a mix of interactions with militants. Tools that help the US DOD understand militants and there interactions can help in these situations. Brazil, and specifically Sao Paulo, with high rates of criminality, is a good laboratory for looking at these types of behaviors (even outside of a warzone). c. Code 34 (Rebecca Goolsby) d. Advancement in tools available for understanding crowds, adversaries, and human populations that can carry risk to the warfighter
