CSP -Workshop: Quantum interfaces with nano-optomechanical devices

Abstract

Workshop: Quantum interfaces with nano-optomechanical devices:This workshop will review the basic physics of quantum optomechanics and give attendees a comprehensive overview of some of its recent developments and current areas of focus. By bringing together experimentalists and theorists, this meeting will contribute to bridge the current gap between the two sides and foster new collaborations, thus helping coordinate the many ongoing activities in this field. The Workshop is expected to strengthen the role that Western scientists are currently playing in the fast developing field of quantum optomechanics. This field isbound to have a decisive impact in the development of a variety of next generation, high performance technological devices, both for civil and military applications.
