CSP - UNITED STATES -ARGENTINA OCEAN SCIENCES MEETING

Abstract

UNITED STATES ~## ARGENTINA OCEAN SCIENCES MEETING: Program is a bilateral meeting with four major sections: a.) Oceans, Climate, and Weather; b.) Fisheries, Ecosystems, and Biodiversity; c.) Technologies and Observational Systems; d.) Data Management. A, c, and d are of direct interest to the US Navy, particularly for the parameterization of ocean and weather models. Meeting will focus on developing cooperative efforts in these four areas of research. b. Program will be led by NOAA, and comes out of regular bilateral meetings between the US and Argentina. Relationships are warming between the two countries, and the meeting offers a chance to substantially re-engage on ocean science. Objective of the CSP is to inject a modest amount of money into the process to facilitate a NOAA led engagement/investment, from which the USN will benefit (data for ocean models, for example). c. Scott Harper (Code 32) d. Advance US-Argentina Partnership in ocean science
