NICOP -DIRECTED SELF-ASSEMBLY AND CHARACTERIZATION OF OPTICAL METASURFACES

Abstract

DIRECTED SELF-ASSEMBLY AND CHARACTERIZATION OF OPTICAL METASURFACES: Work will involve collaboration between two Brazilian universities and NRL to develop new metamaterials with unique optical properties. Based on previous collaboration between NRL and Brazil, these optical properties will be tunable, and lay the groundwork for applications that require control of light photons. b. Work will contribute to a variety of potential Navy applications, including laser tuning, cloaking, and microchip design. c. NRL 6000 (Jake Fontana) d. Advances in optical metamaterials, using technology developed at NRL.
