Abstract

Exploring Quantum Information with Atoms, Crystals and Chips:. Project is with an international leader in photonic entanglement and its potential for quantum computing. The lab has been working on developing a process for serial entanglement so that information can in effect "be remembered". The project will focus on increasing the scale of this serial entanglement, with the goal of one day developing a functioning, quantum computer. This NICOP aims to better integrate the Brazilian lab with research efforts in the US). b. Work will one day lead to computers that can solve "impossible" problems because of the number of calculations required. Cryptography is the most-cited immediate benefit. c.
