Abstract

Workshop on All Electric Powered Ships:The research group organizing this workshop is from the number 1 University in Chile by publications citations. It is a smaller and very prestigious engineering university. They have been awarded a 10 years multi million dollar grant from the Government of Chile (Conicyt) to work with 2 other universities on Power and Energy. They would like to organize a parallel technical conference during the week of Expo Naval in December 2016 on All Electric Ships. B: Electric Ships in US designs have been around for more than 10 years but with the recent advances in modern microprocessors and their processing capability at low cost have made these designs more attractive. This has great applicability to ship control for all electric ships and future requirements for railgun and LAWS. C: This conference was first discussed with Dr Scott Coombe, code 33 when attended expo naval in Dec 2014. D: To bring together experts in the field to discuss future areas of research and to develop NICOP proposals in a related field
