CSP - IWPMA & ECMD 2016 Conference

Abstract

IWPMA & ECMD 2016 Conference:. Technical: International Workshop on Piezoelectric Materials and Applications in Actuators & Energy Conversion Materials and Devices 2016 (IWPMA & ECMD 2016) is a forum to share recent development in the field of electronic materials and devices. In particular, this year s joint conference format will bring together researchers of piezoelectric materials and energy materials and cover a wide range of topics from fundamental to device technology for practical applications. Specific topics include ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials and devices, green energy materials such as solar cells (especially, perovskite material based), fuel cells, energy storage materials, nano-generators, thermoelectric materials and devices. b. Relevance: Piezoelectric materials and devices, which include piezoelectric single crystals, transducers, actuators, sensors, and harvesters, are an important area for the naval research enterprise. The same is true for power and energy technologies: solar, wind, ocean energy (wave, current, ocean thermal), energy harvesting, biomass/alternative fuels, and power conversion/energy storage. c. Coordination: ONR 33 (Dr. Wallace Smith and Dr. Ignacio Perez) d. Desired Outcome: 1) Conference proceedings (paper and electronic copies) and 2) Journal papers (selected papers by peer-reviewing will be published in Sensors and Actuators A; Physical, Energy Harvesting and Systems, and Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Materials)
