CSP -The 14th International Conference on Frontiers of Polymers and Advanced Materials 2016 (ICFPAM 2016)

Abstract

The 14th International Conference on Frontiers of Polymers and Advanced Materials 2016 (ICFPAM 2016)Technical: The International Conference on Frontiers of Polymers and Advanced Materials (ICFPAM) is a conference series that facilitates the discussion multidisciplinary macromolecular science. This tradition will continue at ICFPAM 2016 with an assembly of impressive plenary, keynote and invited speakers. This year s attendees include Professor Akira Suzuki (Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2010), Professor Paras N. Prasad - SUNY Distinguished Professor at the University at Buffalo, Prof. J~rgen R~he, University of Freiburg, Germany and Professor. Kilwon Cho, Pohang University of Science and Technology in addition to over 20 distinguished scientists as Keynote speakers and over 150 Invited Speakers. The program of the conference will focus on current and emerging trends in polymer science and advanced materials, as well as their applications. The topics include synthesis and properties of advanced materials, advanced materials for nanophotonics and biophotonics, polymers and hybrid materials for plastics electronics and photonics, organics and polymers for solar cells as well as thermoelectric energy conversion, nano-scale and nanostructured materials and devices, new materials and devices for defense technology and, biomaterials and their applications. The session on new materials and devices for defense technology is co-organized by Dr. Misoon Mah and Dr. Charles Lee from AFOSR b. Relevance: Polymer science has a broad-spectrum impact on military applications. Examples include sensors for chemical and biological warfare detection and novel energy sources for deployment in remote locations. The scientific exchange at the Symposium will contribute to the knowledge for all Naval S&T Strategic Plan~s focus areas, especially Power and Energy.c. Coordination: ONR 332, AOARD, ITC-PACd. Desired Outcome: The proceedings of the conference would be published in the Optical Materials Express (Optical Society of America: OSA), Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals (Taylor & Francis, USA), and Display and Imaging (OCP
