VSP for Susannah J Buchan to Woods Hole Oceanographic Inst
Abstract
Visiting Scientist ProgramA, Susannah J Buchan (Univ Concepcion in Chile) and Dr. Mark Baumgartner (Woods Hole) and Mike Weiss are working on a FY17 NICOP submittal on Marine Mammals. The goal of the program will be to use Slocum Gliders to study the pacific blue whale population. This VSP will be used 1, prepare the proposal, 2, evaluate current and previous data and 3, for Univ of Concepcion to leverage the experience at Woods Hole. B, Marine Mammals is an important part of ONR Code 32 s portfolio. C, Mike Weiss, Code 32. D, a 3-4 year NICOP proposal and better collaboration between Woods Hole and Univ Concepcion.
