CSP - 8th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON NDT IN AEROSPACE

Abstract

8th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON NDT IN AEROSPACE MOVEN PICK HOTEL BANGALORE INDIA NOVEMBER 3-5, 2016 ABSTARCT Non-destructive Testing and Evaluation is an area that is usedwidely across many disciplines. Especially for aircrafts, it forms the fulcrum when it comes to aircraft safety and maintenance. The aim of this workshop is to bring together academia, R & D personal and industries across the globe to participate, exchange ideas, and deliberate over a wide variety of subjects in NDT especially concerning aircrafts.Aircrafts are extensively used in US Naval vessels such as aircraft carriers that require constant safety assessment and monitoring. In other words, NDT of such vessels with or without aircrafts becomes very important from the point of view of both aircraft as well as marine vessel point of view. In addition, the symposium will address many methods of NDT that can be used for non-aircraft type structures. One of the major thrusts in ONR R & D programs is the Structural Health Monitoring of marine vessels. The concepts and methodologies that will be deliberated in this symposium for aircrafts can be readily extended to non-aircraft structures such as marine vessels. The proposed international symposium, which is the 8th in the series, will be held in Bangalore, India, between November 3-5, 2016 to deliberate on various aspects of NDT pertaining to aircrafts and topic that will be covered under this symposium are as follows: 1. NDT methods like ultrasound, x-ray, thermal imaging, laser based and optical surface inspection etc. 2. Component inspection3. -Material characterization4. Data evaluation and image processing5. NDT system design6. Production integrated NDT&E7. Mobile NDT&E for maintenance, repair and overhaul ~Damage tolerance8. Aircraft aging9. Structural health monitoring
