CSP - Computational Decision Making and Data Science Conference 2017
Abstract
The goal of the Conference is to address open problems in the areas ofComputational Decision Making and Data Science which are of g"reat importanceto DoD and the Navy. The conference will serve as a place for researchers todiscuss potential mutual projects, and" to facilitate interaction between ONR andleading researchers within Europe.Computational decision-making is an emerging research" field that aims to buildnew methods for efficient decision making using advanced computation tools.Similarly, data science is bec""oming one of the most important research fieldscovering the areas of machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, visualizat""ion, data engineering and other disciplines. In recent years data sciencemethods were successfully applied to a large range of area""s including health, biology, climate, marketing, etc. This conference is a successor of two past event: In Spring 2015 a successful"one-day workshop on Mathematics of Data Science was organized at theMathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. In 2016 theSouth-East European Forum (www.datascienceforum.fon.bg.ac.rs) wasorganized with the goal to bring data science res"earchers and experts fromSouth-East Europe region together to discuss the current state-of-the-art,collaboration opportunities and" challenges of data science research. The proposed 2017 Conference will advance the previous events in severalways:~ Bring top researchers from whole Europe~ Introduce the Computational Decision-Making Topic~ Present funding opportunities to participants from EuropeA tentative list of invited speakers for the Computational Decision Making andData Science Conference 2017 is: Predrag Nesk"ovic, ONRG; Zoran Obradovic,Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Academia Europea, and TempleUniversity; Ljupco Kocarev, Macedoni""an Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ss.
