CSP - Vectors in Radar Technology 2017
Abstract
CSP for Vectors in Radar Technology 2017Submitted under: Long Range Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Navy and Marine Corps Science and Technology N00014-17-S-B001This workshop to be held at UCL will be a follow-on to the very successful one of the same format" held at UCL in 2015. As was the case for the earlier workshop, the purpose of this two-day workshop is to present predictions of wh""ere radar technology is going, what are the key directions or ~vectors~ for radar, and what their impact will be. Conventional radar" conferences are inherently retrospective; the papers focus on research that has been performed or the systems that have been develo"ped. Vectors in Radar Technology 2017 will be a platform for leading radar technologists from academia, government, and industry to"" indulge in blue-sky predictions about the future of radar, to effectively extrapolate the state of technology. As was the case for"" the earlier workshop, we anticipate that this will be a very interactive event; the presenters will be challenged and will have to" defend their predictions. The participants will report and discuss current ~hot topics~ in radar and decide the way forward for eac"h. We plan to include a poster session. We anticipate contributions in the following topical areas; however, we will be open to any" other innovative subject areas as well:Waveform DiversityCognitive RadarCompressive SensingBistatic RadarHigh-res SAR and NCTRMicro DopplerBio-inspired processingNovel Imaging TechniquesMultifunction RF SystemsInterferometry and Coherent Change DetectionApplications of Big Data in RadarThe US Navy relies very heavily on radar systems to enable it to fulfill its various missions including C4ISR as well as weapons guidance and control. The output of this workshop should help the Navy shape its future investment" in radar technology. The conference will directly support the Information Dominance, Power Projection, and Integrated Defense focus"" areas. We will invite US Navy technical personnel with potential interest in this topic to the workshop including those from ONR, O""NR Global, NRL, and SPAWAR Systems Center. We are requesting a grant of $27,600 to be used to support travel by non-US participants.
