CSP - The 11th International Symposium on Modern Optics and its Applications (ISMOA)

Abstract

The 11th International Symposium on Modern Optics and its Applications (ISMOA) between 7th~ 10thof August 2017 in Bogor will cover" mainly (but not restricted to) the following topics (with theassociated PACS number)~ Micro and nano photonics (42.82.-m, 42.55.S""a)~ Photonic crystals and photonic crystal fiber (42.55.Tv, 42.70.Qs)~ Plasmonics (73.20.Mf)~ Metamaterials (78.67.Pt)~ Photovol""taics (78.55.-m)~ Nonlinear optics (42.65.-k)~ Optical spectroscopy (42.62.Fi)~ Bio-photonics (42.62.Be)~ Optical sensing, imagi""ng and recording (43.20.-d, 42.79.-e, 42.81.-i)~ Functional optical materials (42.70.Df, 42.70.Jk, 42.70.Qs)It is clear from the t""opics listed above, that the research results communicated and discuss in thissymposium are directly relevant the Naval Science and"" Technology Research Areas such as~ Bio-sensors, Bio-processes and Bio-inspired Systems~ Functional Materials~ Nanometer Scale El"ectronic Devices and Sensors~ Communications and NetworksApart from providing a forum for scientific communication and interaction" among the active anddistinguished researchers, the invited speakers are also expected to present in the seminar therecent or stat""e-of-the-art advances in their individual research field. Together, these are expected tooffer a rather comprehensive up-to-date vi"ew of research results and progresses. This event is alsodesigned to offer the opportunity of making direct contacts for the young" Indonesian and ASEANscientists and students with leading researchers abroad. In the past, these meetings have initiatedresearch c""ollaborations with the University of Groningen, Netherlands, and ~cole PolytechniqueF~d~rale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Furth"er extension of similar collaborations as well asdevelopment of international research networking will be pursued in the coming mee"ting. As we did in the past, this meeting will combine tutorial and seminars on recent research results. The official announcement o""f the event has been posted on the website athttp://indonesianoptics.org/ismoa. From our past records, we expect a total of over 10""0 participantsfrom the ASEAN countries including Indonesia, as well as a number of participants from advancedcountries. Among thes""e, about 30 contributing speakers are expected to present their recentresearch results in the event which will be further highlight""ed by about 16 invited speakers frominternationally reputable institutions abroad, including Fellows from OSA, IEEE and APS.
