CSP - Conference Support for Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS) Singapore 2017
Abstract
This Conference Support Proposal is the application for funding support for the Progressin Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS) to be held in Singapore on 19 - 22November 2017. The website of the symposium ishttp://piers.org/piers2017Singapore/The Progr"ess in Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS,http://www.piers.org/piers/) is sponsored by The Electromagnetics Academy(http:/""/emacademy.org/ ) and its founding chairman is Prof. Jin Au Kong of MIT. In theyear 1989, the Academy co-sponsored the 1st Progress"" in Electromagnetics ResearchSymposium (PIERS) held in Boston, Massachusetts, 25-26 July. The Symposium wasfollowed by an NSF work""shop on future directions in electromagnetics research, alsocosponsored by the Academy. Subsequent PIERS have been held in various"" cities aroundthe world with great success, including Cambridge, Pasadena, Noordwijk, Seattle,Innsbruck, Hong Kong, Nante, Taipei,"" Osaka, Singapore, Honolulu, Pisa, Nanjing,Hangzhou, Prague, Beijing, and etc. For the recent PIERS 2017 in St Petersburg, Russia,""we have also received over 1000 submissions. In addition to PIERS, the Electromagnetics Academy also publishes top journals, namely""PIER, PIER Letters, PIER B, PIER M and PIER C (http://www.jpier.org/PIER/)The purpose of PIERS 2017 Singapore is to provide an inte"rnational forum for reportingprogress and recent advances in the modern development of electromagnetic theory andits new and excit"ing applications.Topics that are covered in PIERS 2017 Singapore are radiation, propagation, diffraction, scattering, guidance, res""onance, power, energy and force issues, and all other moderndevelopments, with spectra ranging from statics to RF, microwave, photo""nics, andbeyond. Many technical sessions will be organized and conducted in the followingtechnical areas:1. Computational Electro""magnetics, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Scatteringand Electromagnetic Theory2. Metamaterials, Plamonics and Complex Media3. Opt""ics and Photonics4. Antennas and Microwave Technologies5. Remote Sensing, Inverse Problems, Imaging, Radar and Sensing
