CSP - OCEANS 18 MTS/IEEE Kobe/Techno-Ocean2018(OTO 18): Advanced OCEAN related technologies will be presented and discussed during the conference period

Abstract

For decades, there has been a drastic progress in ocean sciences and itsrelated technologies such as deep-sea exploration, marine r""esourceexploration, marine ecosystem exploration and so on.The OCEANS conference, two conferences in a year, one in USA and theot""her in Asia-pacific and Europe, is organized by the EEE OES and MTS. It isone of the most important events on researchers with back""grounds inacademia and industry in the Ocean related fields in the world. The OCEANS will be back to Kobe, Japan after 10 years fro""m OCEANS~08MTS/IEEE Kobe /Techno-Ocean2008 (OTO~08). Collaborating with IEEEOES and MTS, the Japanese Organizer (CJO) will host th""e OTO~18 in May28-31, 2018. Under the theme - Ocean Planet, its our home -, OTO~18 coversnot only the topics from wide area of the"" OCEAN related fields, but alsofocuses on special topics, as indicated below ULR:http://www.oceans18mtsieeekobe.org/call-for-paper""s/). Advanced researchresults from all over the world will be presented, discussed and displayed atthe technical sessions and exhi"bition during the conference period.2. Specify how this event or related outcomes will contribute to or support theUS Naval or Marine Corp Science & Technology Plan and identify specificfocus areas that will be addressed.By gathering the Ocean related research"ers and engineers from around theworld and facilitating their active discussion, OTO~18 will energize theinternational OCEAN relat""ed research community, incubate internationalcollaborations, and enable future innovations.3. Identify the names of invited speake"rs and/or distinguished guestsincluding any Office of Naval Research Program Officers or other NavalResearch Enterprise (NRE) pers"onnel that are expected to participate inthis event. From Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG), Dr. Yoko Furukawa hasexpressed h""er interest in attending. From the international OCEANScommunity, we expect to gather 300-400 researchers and engineers fromacadem"ic institutions and industries for the OTO~18. The internationalparticipants will include invited keynote speakers on OCEAN related" fieldsfrom various countries.4. 4. State the desired outcomes of this event (e.g. conference proceedings, journal articles, algor""ithms, tools, additional research etc.)OTO~18 will result in increased international collaborations among OCEANrelated researchers" and engineers. Conference proceedings will be publishedin IEEE Xplore. Improvement of the presented papers at the technicalsessions will be recommended for submission to IEEE Journal of OceanicEngineering and MTS Journal.
