CSP - 2018 Computational Decision Making and Data Science Workshop

Abstract

The 2017 Computational Decision Making and Data Science Workshop has the goal to addressopen problems in the areas of Computational Decision Making and Data Science which are ofgreat importance to DoD and the Navy. The conference will serve as a place for resear"chers todiscuss potential mutual projects, and to facilitate interaction between ONRG and leadingresearchers within Europe.Comput"ational decision-making is an emerging research field that aims to build new methods forefficient decision making using advanced co"mputation tools. Similarly, data science is becomingone of the most important research fields covering the areas of machine learnin""g, data mining, pattern recognition, visualization, data engineering and other disciplines. In recent years datascience methods wer""e successfully applied to a large range of areas including health, biology, climate, marketing, etc. This Workshop is a successor of" the last years~ event funded by ONRG: In 2017 theComputational Decision-Making and Data Science Workshop (http://cdmdsc2017.fon.bg.ac.rs/)was organized with the goal to bring data science researchers and experts from Europe togetherto discuss the current state"-of-the-art, collaboration opportunities and challenges of data scienceresearch. The proposed 2017 Conference will advance the prev"ious event in several ways:~ Introduce the Large-scale distributed Decision-Making Topic~ Introduce the information creation and deliberation topic~ Introduce the blockchain technology and bitcoin topic~ Introduce the causality topicA tentative list of invite"d speakers for the Computational Decision Making and Data ScienceWorkshop 2018 will be identified in the following period, i.e. lat"est by the end of 2017.
