CSP - Sponsorship for the 2018 10th IEEE International Workshop on Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing
Abstract
On behalf of the organizing committee of the 10th IEEE Sensor Array and MultichannelSignal Processing Workshop (SAM 2018), University of Sheffield is pleased to submitthis proposal for funding under the conference support program of ONRG. Thepurpose of this proposal is to seek support to encourage student participation and alsocover part of the cost of renting the conference venue in SAM 2018, which will be heldat the University of Sheffield, UK, from 08 July to 11 July, 2018. The IEEE SensorArray and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop is the major IEEE SignalProcessing Society event devoted to sensor array and multichannel signal processing.Every two years, it brings together researchers and practitioners in sensor array andmultichannel signal processing from government, academia, and industry. Attendeeshave come from all over the world, including North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Asia Pacific region. More than 150 participants attended the last SAMworkshop held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 11-13 July, 2016.SAM 2018 will feature plenary talks by leading researchers in the field as well as posterand oral sessions with presentations by the participants. In particular, there will be fourtutorial sessions for day one (two in the morning and two in the afternoon), variousoral and poster technical sessions including special sessions for the following threedays (morning sessions and afternoon sessions); there will also be five plenary talksduring these three days (two for day two and day three, and one for day four), withspeakers from Germany (Prof. Walter Kellermann), Israel (Prof. Michael Elad),Netherlands (Prof. Alle-Jan van der Veen) and United States (Prof. Tom Luo and Prof.Jian Li).The following is a list of topics covered by the technical programmes of IEEE SAM2018workshop.1) Adaptive beamforming2) Array processing for biomedical applications3) Array processing for communications4) Big data5) Blind source separation and channel identification6) Computational and optimization techniques7) Compressive sensing and sparsity-based signal processing8) Detection and estimation9) Direction-of-arrival estimation10) Distributed and adaptive signal processing11) Intelligent systems and knowledge-based signal processing12) Microphone and loudspeaker array applications13) MIMO radar14) Multi-antenna systems: multiuser MIMO, massive MIMO and space-time coding15) Multi-channel imaging and hyperspectral processing16) Multi-sensor processing for smart grid and energy17) Non-Gaussian, nonlinear, and non-stationary models18) Optimization techniques19) Performance evaluations with experimental data20) Radar and sonar array processing21) Sensor networks22) Source Localization, classification and tracking23) Synthetic aperture techniques24) Space-time adaptive processing25) Statistical modelling for sensor arrays26) Tensor signal processing27) Waveform diverse sensors and systemsConference proceedings including all accepted papers will be published by IEEE andavailable at the online library IEEE Explore. The Office of Naval Research (ONR) or the Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG)has sponsored the past SAM workshops and similar conferences like the IEEE RadarConferences due to their close alignment with the focus of the US Naval or MarineCorp Science & Technology Plan. Its continued support in SAM 2018 will help makethe event another success in its long history and forge an even stronger relationshipbetween ONR/ONRG and the research and development community in the area ofsensor array and multichannel signal processing.Conference DetailsThe conference title is the 10th IEEE Sensor Array and Multichannel SignalProcessing Workshop, abbreviated as SAM2018. The conference will be held from 8July to 11 July, 2018. The objective of conference is to provide a forum for researchersand practitioners from all over the world to gather together to share the latest advancesin the theory, algorithms, and applications of array and multicha
