Abstract

The International Conference on High-Entropy Materials (ICHEM) has emerged from theexciting and vibrant field of High-Entropy Materials (HEMs) in materials science communityand has now stabilized to trigger the development of advanced HEMs. The HEMs are of greatinterest to the material science community from both the scientific and technological points ofview because of its wide variety of compositions with unprecedented properties and providesgreat opportunities for a wide range of structural and functional applications.The well-elaborated ???ICHEM???2018??? will be hosted by the Center for High-Entropy Alloys ???Pohang University and Science and Technology (POSTECH), South Korea. With access topriceless scientific knowledge, industrially valuable information, and wonderful Koreanscenery and the culture of Jeju Island, all the participants will have a great time in the 2ndICHEM in the picturesque city of Jeju, South Korea.The ICHEM-2018 provides a wonderful opportunity to the world-class scientists, industrialresearchers, and students in the field of metallic alloys to get together and share their valuableresearch results. In this regard, plenary sessions, invited and contributed talks are verynoteworthy. The program would cover a wide range of topics including, but not limited to,Material and Process Development, High-temperature and Radiation-resistant Materials,Physical Metallurgy and phase transformations, Mechanical Properties, Physical-Chemical-Functional Properties, Structure and Characterization, Simulations and Modeling, and HighentropyCeramic, Coatings & Composites, Breaking Composition Boundary. The ???industryforum??? with two specific topics, ???steels and metals??? and ???semiconductors and display devices???,is devised to provide with discussions among attendees from industries and academia via paneldiscussionupon challenging issues on the industrial application of HEMs.This meeting will offer a platform for networking, collaboration, and information exchange inthe community, which will stimulate the focus, necessity, and encouragement of collaborationsbetween the scientific and industrial communities. The global industrial scientists andengineers will encounter many advancement and challenges of the future technology throughICHEM???2018.
