GLOBAL SPACE & TECHNOLOGY CONVENTION 2019 TECHNICAL SESSIONS
Abstract
The Global Space & Technology Convention (Singapore, 14 & 15 Feb 2019) will conveneindustry experts and scientists in the emerging new areas of space & technology.Over 200 international, high level technical experts, CTOs will attend GSTC to share theirfindings, enhance their learning and explore partnerships with one another. The meeting will advance industry partnerships with scientists, government andintergovernmental agencies to increase potential on technical partnership, prototyping, testing and validation or new research areas for faster and higher rate of modern-daysatellite deployment and data processing, and application of the data, and in satellitecommunications security.Key technical sessions / topics are as follow:~ Remote Sensingo intelligence use cases. Recent milestones in remote sensing includes thedevelopment of hyperspectral imaging sensors which can capture images inseveral hundred wavelength bands, relative to conventional imagingcapabilities.~ Cybersecurity on Satcom Enabled Networkso The ability to interrupt, inspect, modify, redirect traffic or modify the behaviourof the devices connected to a network provides an instrumental opportunity toperform reconnaissance, disable or modify the functionality of specificsystem.~ Small Sat Advancements in Asiao Miniaturization of satellites has paved the way for new developments andadvancements in small satellite products and solutions, namely projectsinvolving constellations and in-orbit services.~ Emerging Satellite Technologies in Communicationso Important modifications in repeater designs, antenna structures and spectrumpolicies open up exciting opportunities for GEO satellites to support a varietyof emerging applications, ranging from telemedicine to real-time data transferbetween LEO satellite and ground station.~ Future of Geospatial Platformso Decision makers and government bodies are searching for approaches thatbetter leverage this digital data to improve business processes andgovernment management. The key outcomes of the technical sessions are:~ Expand the scope of R&D partnerships between industries, government andresearch organizations to advance space capabilities and technologies~ Improve understanding of global research and technology trends advance theawareness of the space capabilities and identify ideas for new research areas~ For local entities to formulate commercial collaborations with overseas partners, and for international corporations to leverage on access to key decision and policymakers in translating emerging technologies into commercially-viable use cases.
