Pan American Research in Additive Global Manufacturing (PARADIGM / PARADIGMA 2019)

Abstract

The proposal is to help support a three-day workshop on additive manufacturing (AM) with the objective to disseminate novel manufacturing technologies and stimulate collaborative research especially in Latin America. Specific outcomes include better understanding of Latin American research in AM; broad participation from academia, government and industry; identification of new AM research opportunities; and publication of selected presentations and a workshop summary in a peer-reviewed journal. The proposed workshop is well organized and focused to better accomplish workshop outcomes. One of the planned sessions is focused on advanced manufacturing of lithium batteries, which is attracting already significant interest from the Chilean government and industry technical community.
