The 3rd South China Sea Conference
Abstract
The first South China Sea Conference (SCSC) was in 2008 with a theme of ~Sustaining Ocean Productivities, Maritime Communities and the Climate~. The second SCSC was in 2012 with a theme of ~Sharing Knowledge, Resources and Technologies for a sustainable South Chin"a Sea~. The third SCSC theme is ""South China Seas: Sea, science & Societies: Forging Alliances in Facing Global Environmental Change"""" The SCSC is intended to serve as a platform with the objective for the exchange of information related to research activities in" the South China Seas and to promote international cooperation among marine scientists of the world. This conference forms a vital part of marine research activities in facilitating the exchange of current research; enabling scientists, technologists and people interested in marine sciences to gather and to present their latest findings and learn from one another. This gathering enables development of new collaborative relationships and research partnerships to create opportunities for students and emerging scientists to present their work, exchange views, and gather current information in their respective field of expertise. It is expected to attract a minimum of 200 local and international participants.
