Intrusion Detection of Malicious Cyber Attacks in Isolated Three-Phase AC Microgrids under Distributed Droop Control
Abstract
The proposal presents a framework for distributed control and intrusion detection in isolated three-phase AC micro-grids (MGs). A distributed consensus based control for isolated MicroGrids, consisting of a primary level droop control and a 2ndary level node-to-node update, will be tested for achieving accurate proportional power sharing among all distributed energy resources (DERs) while maintaining the nominal system frequency. The framework will be analyzed for its advantage for cyber resiliency. The concept is novel in approaching the problem of a distributed control scheme as a consensus optimization problem. Using the partial primal-dual (PPD) algorithm to distributed system update requiring only neighboring information exchange, the inherent limitations of a centralized controller is eliminated. The required communication bandwidth and control cost can be significantly reduced without degrading the dynamical performance.
