Application for an ONR global grant for the 11th International Workshop on Ship and Marine Hydrodynamics in Hamburg, Germany, September 22nd -25th, 2019
Abstract
From September 22nd to September 25th of 2019, the 11th Workshop on Ship and MarineHydrodynamics (IWSH 2019) will take place in Hamburg, Germany. The workshop is abiannual event aimed speci?cally at young professionals working in the domain of marineengineering, ship hydrodynamics and renewable energy. The workshop shall give researchersand engineers from around the world the opportunity to present and discuss recent develop-ments and current advancements in their respective ?elds of work. The scope of the workshoptopics will include theoretical, experimental and numerical works as well as a combinationof these. The workshop is hosted by the Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Ship Theory(FDS) of the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). As hosting university, the TUHHis committed to maintain the high quality of the workshop by ensuring suitable facilities,modern technical equipment and smooth organization. In this manner, the host aims toprovide the appropriate atmosphere and environment for the intended knowledge transfer,so that also in future years the workshop will attract young professionals in ship and marinehydrodynamics from all over the world. At the same time it is the host s intention to keepregistration fees at a moderate level so that all interested scientists can attend. Thus theTUHH applies with this grant for ?nancial support by the ONR.
