Abstract
10th International Conference of the African Materials Research Society (AMRS 2019);Focus on JUAMI Mini-SymposiumTechnical and Scientific Objectives Advances in materials have long fueled technologicaladvances in a broad range of engineering fields, from communications to construction, frommedicine to metallurgical processing. AMRS2019 provides an affordable platform for Africanresearchers to present their work across the broad spectrum of activities encompassed bymaterials science and engineering. By bringing together top materials researchers from Africaand elsewhere, AMRS2019 will advance materials research across this broad spectrum of topics,which are sure to be relevant not only to Africa but to the world as a whole, for years to come.Ten symposia are planned, spanning from materials for health to nanoscience, to computationalmaterials science. In addition, a one-day mini-symposium, at which alumni and supporters of theJoint Undertaking for an African Materials Institute (JUAMI) present their latest collaborativeactivities, is planned.
