UNDERWATER ACOUSTIC MEASUREMENTS TECHNOLOGIES AND RESULTS CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION - UACE2021

Abstract

Peloponnese, Greece during the days Sunday June 20th through Friday June 25th, 2021. (Conference website www.uaconferences.org).This series of Conferences started in 2005 by Leif Bjrn and John S. Papadakis under the title UAM - Underwater Acoustic Measurements: Technologies and Results, (Heraklion in 2005 and 2007 Nafplion in 2009 Kos in 2011). In 2013, UAM was merged with ECUA and the title changed to UACE- Underwater Acoustics Conference and Exhibition, (Corfu in 2013, Rhodes in 2014 and Chania in 2015). In Oct ober 2015, Leif Bjrn passed away. The organization of the Conference series was then assisted by an Organizing Committee formed by Philippe Blondel, David Bradley, Mike Buckingham, Ross Chapman, Qihu Li and Michael Taroudakis for the Conference in Skiathos islan d in 2017. At that Conference, David Bradley accepted the task to be my Co-Chairman. Together, we organized the 2019 Conference in H ersonissos, Crete.Since in 2021, we are celebrating the 10th Conference of the series, it was decided thatThe Organizing Committee f or the UACE2021 includes:John S. Papadakis, FORTH, Greece (Chairman)David Bradley, ARL, Penn State University, USA (Chairman)Philipp e Blondel, University of Bath, UKMike Buckingham, MPL, Scripps, USARoss Chapman, University of Victoria, Canada (Co-Chairman)Nichola s Chotiros, University of Texas at AustinGeorge Haralabus, CTBTO, AustriaQihu Li, Institute of Acoustics, Acad. Sinica, ChinaAnthony Lyons, CCOM/JHC, University of New Hampshire, USAMichael Taroudakis, University of Crete and FORTH, Greece (Co-Chairman)UACE2021 pr ovides a forum for exchange of recent research results, for discussion of future challenges in implementation and application of und erwater acoustic technologies, and the conference displayed the latest advances in instrumentation. The conference comprises a promin ent series of structured and regular oral sessions with invited papers by leading international scientists. The Structured Sessions are organized by key persons actively engaged at the forefronts of research in underwater acoustics. In addition, most recent resear ch results will be presented in contributed papers. All papers to be presented at the conference will be published in proceedings wh ich, like papers from the previous Underwater Acoustic Conferences, will be freely available on the Conference Website. The conferenc e will focus on underwater acoustic measurements, the applied technologies and the results obtained. As many theoretical and computa tional predictions are available in the field of underwater acoustics, and as several important experimental studies ranging from mo del scale tests in laboratories to full scale tests at sea have been performed over the past or are planned to take place in the nea r future, it is timely to review the whole field of underwater acoustic measurements. This shall not exclude inputs from theoretical or computational underwater acoustics, which shall be most welcome, but emphasis of this conference will be on underwater acoustic measurements
