Global Space and Technology Convention 2024

Abstract

GSTC 2024 Project SummaryIn this proposal, Singapore Space & Technology Limited (SSTL) seeks to work with Office of Naval Research Global (ONR Global) through the Global Space and Technology Convention (GSTC) 2024. This will comprise of 2 main segments: (i) Main Conference (ii) Research Landscape Workshopi. Overview:The Global Space and Technology Convention (GSTC), is SSTL#s annual flagship thought-leadership platform, taking place from 14 - 16 Feb 2024 in Singapore. GSTC will convene industry experts, academia, scientists, and government representatives in the emerging new areas of space and technology. Through GSTC, this offers a platform for over 800 international, high level technical experts, CTOs and representatives to share their findings, enhance their learning and explore partnerships with one another. Overall, GSTC serves as an avenue to foster conversations and spark innovation among a diverse group of individuals. The convention will advance industry partnerships with scientists, engineers, government, and intergovernmental agencies to increase potential on technical collaborations, prototyping, testing and validation in new research areas for faster and safer deployments of modern-day satellites, spacecrafts, data processing, data application, secured communications and exploration.ii. Main Conference:The goal of including ONR Global in the Main Conference programme is to deepen the exposure of ONR Global to the trends, opportunities and challenges in the space industry and many related technology sectors. As a thought leadership platform, GSTC also offers attendees to engage in conversation on current topics, future challenges, and even next generation ideas at the highest level with many distinguished guests. This is made possible through the meticulously arranged conference programme. ONR Global will be able to reap the benefits of knowledge building at GSTC through participation as a regular delegate or as a speaker on one of the contemporary topics selected at the main conference. The main conference programme for GSTC 2024 consists of 3 focus themes (preliminary), and each theme is further sub divided into notable key topics. General details are as follows:3 Focus Themes# Smart, Secure & Strong# Our Planet for the Next Generation# Expanding the Horizons of SpaceKey topics will include: Autonomous Transport, Satellite Connectivity Space for Sustainable Development, Maritime Security through Earth Observation, Cybersecurity, Disaster Mitigation,Space Landscape Outlook, Computing systems for Space Uses, Skills for Space Industry, Innovations for Space, Space Situation Awareness, Space Life Science, Roboticsiii. iii. Co-located Workshops & Activities: Research Landscape WorkshopThe Research Landscape Workshop seeks to provide an avenue for ONR Global, research institutes and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to share and learn about current and future research trends, opportunities, paradigms, and challenges. To facilitate this, this segment will potentially feature presentations and panels to inspire deep thinking and meaningful dialogue amongst invited participants. The Research Landscape Workshop is proposed to be co-located at GSTC, given GSTC#s reputation for being a thought-leadership platform to draw many people from unique and diverse backgrounds. This gives an opportunity for SSTL to gather prominent and experienced individuals to be a part of the workshop. This is synergistic for the Research Landscape Workshop as it will (i) offer fresh, realistic, and broad perspectives in the workshop (ii) add to the diversity of individuals at the Research Landscape Workshop to offer a truly comprehensive view of the latest in the research scene on various topics and subjects.Furthermore, this will enable exciting networking opportunities, valuable insights to be learned from these other unique individuals and more chances for collaborative discussions among various organisations.
