Pucon Learning and AI Summit - PLENA
Abstract
A critical goal in Neuroscience is understanding how neurons interact with each other, generating adaptive behavior by learning. Weplan to gather researchers interested in neuroscience, computer science, and engineering into a collaborative meeting to discuss three fundamental questions: What cellular mechanisms enable learning and translating neuronal circuitry activity in behavior? Does the brain as a neuronal network react to the environment or actively interact with it in a predictive way? And, how can Artificial Intelligence (AI) benefit from new neuroscience knowledge, and vice versa? These questions represent areas of intense research and theoretical debate. On the other hand, this cross is crucial to develop new fundamental models that can improve the actual state of art of AI, improving, inspiring and accelerating the research questions and answers. We expect the participation of 33 main speakers withspecific lectures abording one of the three axis proposed. Additionally we´ll make a selection of 45 students who want to share their research in poster sessions. Finally we expect the participation of additional 150 academic audience who wants to participate andlisten the discussions. In parallel with the scientific track, we´re organizing two open seminars in Santiago de Chile, focused on a wider audience.
