MICROFLUIDICS CONFERENCE IN MEXICO CITY HOSTED BY INSTITUTO TECNOLOGICO Y DE ESTUDIOS SUPERIORES DE MONTERREY

Abstract

At this first International Conference on CD Microfluidics we will advance the state of the art by bringing together experts in various CD Microfluidics applications and novel fluidic functions. Participants will highlight the most recent advances and discuss remaining challenges with transformative potential to help set the future direction of the field. The focus areas are medical diagnostics, water treatment, and general microfluidic innovation. The conference features four plenary lectures by recognized thought leaders. Dr. Andreas Manz will present an overview of the impact microfluidics has had on diagnostics. Drs. Roland Zengerle and Yoon Cho will highlight the specific impacts CD fluidics has had on medical diagnostics and water treatment. Lastly, Dr. Albert van den Berg will share his insights on anticipated breakthroughs in microfluidics. Besides the 4 plenaries, there will be 11 invited talks, 15 regular talks, and 40 posters. A special conference issue comprising selected papers will be curated for publication in Microsystems &Nanoengineering, further enriching the discourse initiated at the conference. Yet, the essence of CD Microfluidics Mexico 2024 extends beyond a mere academic and industrial exchange. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mexico City, we#ve organized a rich culturalprogram, complete with amenities during lunch breaks and an exquisite social dinner night. This event will advance the state of theart by reconnecting colleagues, forming new bonds, and inspiring a new generation of eager students, budding scientists, and innovative engineers, both from Mexico and the global community. Bringing together the national and international experts in microfluidics, and researchers from several top-notch health centers will pave the way to discover and develop world-class novel Microfluidics applications in medical diagnostics and therapy, drug screening, water analysis and food technology.
