19th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems 2024 ISWCS 2024

Abstract

Abstract: The Communications Society (ComSoc) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) serves its members through high quality publications, events, technical and educational activities. Among its duties is the organization of events dedicated to the presentation and discussion of new advances in the various areas of signal processing. Among the diverse communication topics is the area of wireless communications, which encompasses research activities in communication theory, information theory and channel coding, signal processing for communications, antennas and propagation, and their applications. Such activities are of interest and strongly related to those of the US Naval and Marine Corp Science & Technology Plan. In this context, the International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems (ISWCS) has been organized for over 20 years and attracts researchers from around the world. In addition, ISWCS usually invites renowned speakers and is an attractive event for research students. The 19th edition of ISWCS (ISWCS 2024) will be held in Rio de Janeiro, July 14-17, 2024, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). ISWCS2024 will present the latest advances from academia, research and development institutions, as well as companies in fields such as multiple-antenna systems, interference mitigation, channel coding, signal processing for communications and channel propagation studies for the 6th generation of wireless communications. Event attendees can gain state-of-the-art insight into specific topics from selected scientific papers presented at the conference, as well as from invited lectures by 3 internationally renowned researchers, namely: Prof. Lee Swindlehurst, UC Irvine, USA Prof. Ana Perez-Neira, UPC and CTTC, Spain Prof. Bruno Clerckx, Imperial College, UK Over the last 20 years ISWCS has become very prestigious and is one of the most important events dedicated to wireless communication systems for scientific, technological and educational exchange between professionals in this area. Given the importance of IEEE and ComSoc to the wireless communications research community and their track record in organizing scientific events and encouraging research, and the fact that it is the first time the event will be held in Brazil, it will certainly contribute to the advancement of science, technology and innovation in Brazil. The support of the US Office of Naval Research to this workshop, which has traditionallybeen financially supporting events over the years, is of fundamental importance to reinforce the international insertion of the Brazilian wireless communications community, as well as continuing the mission that ComSoc has been carrying out for science and development. All information regarding ISWCS is available on the event portal and can be accessed at: https://iswcs2024.usuarios.rdc.puc-rio.br/ The outcomes of this event will in the form papers organized in coherent programme, proceedings and technical discussions among participants.
